Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy

IMG_3570 (1).jpeg

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is used to help decrease inflammation and pain, while also speeding up healing times and regeneration. PEMF therapy also has been FDA approved to heal bone fractures. This painless modality can be used in conjunction with your pet’s rehabilitation and acupuncture treatments!

How does it wORK?

PEMF uses pulsing electromagnetic fields to activate and accelerate normal cellular reactions. Cells contain electrically charged particles called ions govern all cellular processes. When the body is stressed (by illness, competition, pain, environmental factors or age) the cellular membrane that conducts the essential ions into and out of the cell becomes compromised and is unable to efficiently do its job of managing the transport of these ions.

The PEMF generates a magnetic field that creates motion immediately and positively directly impacts these ions and membrane potential to stimulate them into action. The result is an increase in cellular communication and circulation, a decrease in inflammation and pain and acceleration of healing.

There are no side effects seen with the use of PEMF.

The 30-minute treatment cannot be felt but the effect is noticeable and many times your pet will relax on the bed or even fall asleep. Typically, you will see results within two weeks and many times you will notice an immediate difference in the way your pet rises, walks and runs.
